Scheduling An Initial Consultation

Sessions are 45 minutes long in my Tribeca office downtown. Your first session is a consultation so you can evaluate if I’m a good fit for you. Similarly, it gives me the opportunity to give you honest feedback about whether or not I believe I’m the right clinician to facilitate change for you. 

What To Expect

The first session is just a conversation, but it’s normal to feel nervous. I know that it’s a lot to divulge your personal world to a stranger, but I can tell you that it’s also very liberating. It’s private, it’s nonjudgmental, and it’s a space where you can pay attention to yourself; in a world where we are constantly distracting ourselves, it’s amazing to see what comes to the surface when we just sit still. This is why you don’t even need to know what brings you in; we’ll uncover that as our sessions advance. You [and your partner] may simply feel that it’s time, and that’s perfectly okay. 

Payment and Insurance

Session fees are competitive for New York City and receipts are provided for “out of network benefit” reimbursement. Depending on your plan, therapy services may be reimbursed in full or in part and can reduce the cost of therapy by covering between 50% to 80% of the therapy fee. If you are interested in pursuing reimbursement, please reach out to your health insurance provider first to see what is possible.
